About the Illustrator
Susan S. Leggett grew up with an artist mother and was drawn to the creative process as a child, but pursued a practical business career, winding up in commercial real estate investment and development. After retiring, Susan started to explore the world of art more formally, earning a Masters degree in Art History and Museum Studies from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She jumped into oil painting in an intensive summer workshop offered by the Cleveland Institute of Art and has continued to study painting with various artists. The Lowcountry of South Carolina is now Susan’s home and many of her paintings reflect its creatures and scenery.
